HEY! I'm back from my food tour:]
Life was never so great. As the Chinese saying goes: 能吃是福, I felt so fortunate and thankful for the foods on my table. What was in for my food tour? Everything.
First, we set off from our house at 6am for macs at west coast to meet my uncles, aunts and cousins. While we were waiting, I began to feel a bit hungry and went in to share breakfast with my brother. Luckily I did so because there was a jam at the custom and I thought I will definitely throw tantrum for a hungry man is an angry man. When we finally got pass the custom, we took a short break at the R&R station where I also bought my first souvenir, a super duper nice handphone pouch. It's nothing like the ones we have in Singapore. Simple yet beautiful, its bronze in colour and has a cute little teddy in front of in. I call it "Gruff the Second" for it looks exactly the same as Gruff (my teddy). Than we headed for Kluang for the 'official' breakfast. Slept on the way (as usual) after the car radio did not have any reception from the Singapore radio station. Kluang was a beautiful place and they had deers there! The roads are wide and the people are nice:] And I want to tell someone something: Sexy, the Malays there speak better Chinese than you! And its true. The waiter's there took all our orders in Mandarin. We had dim sum there and the food was good. My personal favourite, the
hao gao. The prawns were fresh and sweet. The taste was so fantastic that my brother had half a
long to himself. As it was still too early to go to Malacca as the check in time was only 3pm, we went to a nearby organic farm for a walk. The plants there were pretty. The flowers were in full bloom, but not the Dragonfruits. For the first time, I saw the Dragonfriut plant and did you know, it was part of the castus family? We also bought alot of things there, all organic and expensive. Than we proceeded to Muar for
bak kut teh. It wasn't as fantastic as the one in Malacca but was still nice. On the way to Malacca, we saw cows helping the people plough the ground. We checked in at the Holiday Inn and the place had a wonderful view. The hotel room had a view of the Straits of Malacca. Imagine that. We rest at the hotel before my very first Perenakan meal at Aunty Lee's. The food there was fantastic! The sambal, the balacan, wow. All the food was spicy and sour, just my style. However, the wait was like 45 min before our first dish came, but it was all worth it. I LOVE PERENAKAN ST LYE!!!! After dinner, we went Jonker Walk. bought quite a few stuff there and I bowed to perseverance there as well. There was a disabled lady there who wrote beautiful poems just from you name. I really loved the way she maneuvers the Chinese language. Dad brought a few pieces for himself and his friends. The lady came out with all the poems on the spot. Praise was the only thing that came out from my mouth.
This morning, I was awakened by the beatiful sight. The clouds was so fluffy and a lovely smile just lightened me. Mum and Dad went out to buy nyonya kueh early in the morning. The kuehs are so tasty I still can savour it in my mouth. Went to a Teochew restuarant for lunch. Great taste that I cannot possibly describe. The
or ni aka yam paste was very smooth. Than we went back to the hotel and checked out. That also ended our trip to Malacca and I am back home, cosy and warmth by the love of my family. I love you guys <3
